Through the BC Tourism Climate Resiliency Initiative, ConnectSeven delivered coaching and assessments that helped tourism businesses identify risks, draft action plans, and prioritize. Guidance was also given on how to measure progress and communicate in ways that support business development, investment attraction, and reputation.

As regenerative tourism emerged as a vital concept, Explore Edmonton required a clear, inclusive approach to guide tourism growth. The goal was to engage stakeholders and align business, community, and industry objectives.

ConnectSeven, alongside the Global Destination Sustainability Movement, applied a proprietary Regenerative Tourism Framework, engaging the community through rigorous assessments and SDG-aligned workshops. Global standards were integrated with local priorities to create a roadmap for a highly resilient, community-supported growth of the visitor economy.

Result: A leading-edge strategy establishing KPIs to strengthen the visitor economy while benefitting the city and its residents. 

From Tourism Growth to Strategic Investment

Tourism Canmore Kananaskis

Tourism Canmore Kananaskis required a strategy to manage visitation while protecting community health, infrastructure, and the surrounding environment.

ConnectSeven led the development of a Regenerative Tourism Action Plan grounded in a Global Destination Sustainability Index baseline and shaped through engagement with businesses and community organizations. The process identified practical actions to manage tourism  and strengthen destination resilience.

Result: The plan now guides funding and program priorities and supported the creation of a dedicated sustainability team within the DMO.

Driving Global Tourism Demand Through Destination Performance

Canadian destinations needed practical tools and shared approaches to strengthen destination performance while remaining globally competitive.

Destination Canada engaged ConnectSeven with the Global Destination Sustainability Movement to deliver a national program supporting sustainable destination development across both business events and leisure tourism. The program provided training, benchmarking, and performance assessments to 20 destinations through workshops and practical tools

Result: This program established Canada as the largest national cohort within the Global Destination Sustainability Index and generated continued demand for strategy and training support.
